Small Batch Brownies

The brownie in a mug recipe is good & fast, but it's more fluffy and not very rich. This is more involved but good if you want REAL brownies but don't want to make a full pan.


1/2 stick butter (4 TBSP)
1 egg
1oz square unsweetened baking chocolate
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/8 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp vanilla
pinch salt
optional 1/3c "swirl" like peanut butter, nutella, marshmallow fluff, caramel, strawberry preserves


1. Preheat oven to 350F
2. Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
3. Add chocolate and stir until melted. Set aside to cool.
4. Combine all dry ingredients and egg in a small mixing bowl and stir until consistent.
5. Add chocolate to mixture. Pour into a small baking pan (like a 6" square, or several ramekins).
6. Swirl your extra ingredient into the batter by pouring it into lines on top and using a fork or knife to pull across the,. Do not completely mix in.
7. Bake 20-25min.
