Cake Mini Doughnuts

No fry, no yeast, easy doughnut recipe.


1 cup flour
3/8 cup sugar
3/8 cup milk
1 egg
1/2 TBSP shortening
1 tsp baking powder
Dash each salt, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla or almond extract

Glaze: 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1 TBSP hot water, splash vanilla or almond extract


1. Heat oven to 325F
2. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir into a consistent batter.
3. Spoon into mini doughnut or mini muffin pan, filling each well 3/4 of the way.
4. Bake 8-10 min, until doughnuts spring back when touched.
5. Cool for 2-3 minutes before removing from pan.
6. Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over cooled doughnuts. Add sprinkles if desired.
